In what has been the latest development, as per the reports in the Sydney Morning Herald, it is learned that Australia skipper Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the upcoming white-ball series against the Indian Cricket Team.
Pat Cummins is still recovering from the back injury that he suffered during the test series against the West Indies. The pacer recently underwent scans and the results didn’t come in favour of him as he will have to stay out of action for a while.
Pat Cummins will also be missing the T20I series against New Zealand, starting from 1st October. Following that, he won’t be there for the three-match ODI series against India along with the five-match T20I series.

The report in the Sydney Morning Herald said:
“Depending on the seriousness of Cummins’ back trouble, he may miss all the white ball games that precede the first Ashes Test in Perth in late November and could also need to avoid playing a Sheffield Shield game for New South Wales. As it is, he will be missing from the Twenty20 squad that will be named on Tuesday to tour New Zealand.”
“There may be some concern among Australia’s selectors and medical staff about the prospect of Cummins pulling up sore after a tour in which he bowled relatively few overs, particularly during the West Indies leg on a trio of lively pitches,” the report added.
With Pat Cummins getting ruled out, it is expected that Mitchell Marsh will lead India in the three-match ODI series against India.
