    MG 4 XPower | Autocar

A final model-year change is the addition of a one-pedal driving mode, for those who prefer to drive EVs without using the brake pedal much. That’s very welcome – but there’s a delay to the retardation kicking in, which makes it harder to control precisely than it ought to be. Not that one-pedal driving is what will motivate many XPower owners. So is this a Q-car, or a hot hatch, or something else entirely? The answer is probably closest to the last of those ideas.  The standard, single-motor, rear-drive MG 4 actually remains the discerning driver’s choice for those who like…

Trump’s Russia oil tariff threat depends on China, India reaction: Russell

U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to impose secondary tariffs of 25% to 50% on buyers of Russian crude oil is just crazy and bold enough to perhaps achieve his stated aim of a ceasefire in Ukraine. What matters now is the reaction of the other three key players to this latest move by the mercurial and inconsistent U.S. leader. Do Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping believe that Trump will actually follow through, and if he does what will it mean for their energy situation? India and China are effectively the only…

Chicken breasts will come out juicy and tender with one simple trick

Chicken breasts are a go-to protein for many home cooks, but they often have a reputation for being dry and bland. With little fat content, they can easily become overcooked, resulting in a tough, chewy texture. However, culinary experts have revealed a simple trick that ensures juicy, flavorful chicken every time: a quick brine using a common pantry staple. According to Simply Recipes, brining is a classic cooking technique often used for large cuts of meat like turkey, but even a quick 30-minute soak in a simple saltwater solution can transform chicken breasts, making them more tender, juicy, and flavorful.…

Within 30 minutes of arriving at the track I realise I have thoroughly underestimated the amount of faffing and form filling required to actually get moving.  I only achieve five laps out during daytime. And they were a bit of a blur to be honest. I didn’t manage to pick a quiet time and it felt like more serious racing machinery was constantly coming up in the rear view mirror and I was always off-line letting things pass and not quite learning the track. Night time soon comes and we head out on track. There were around 25 cars taking…

Martin Lewis MSE banana storage rule to stop peel turning black

Bananas are ideal for a quick, healthy and tasty snack, but if you buy a whole bunch it can be easy to let some go to waste if they aren’t eaten quickly enough. Bananas ripen very quickly as they produce ethylene gas – a natural chemical compound that promotes ripening. As the fruit releases this gas it stimulates enzymes to break down starch into sugar, giving bananas their wonderfully sweet taste, and it also causes the fruit tissues to soften as the cells break down. The release of the gas is also what prompts the change in colour from green…
